Matthew Tennyson

In 2007, actor Matthew Tennyson made his professional debut at the National Theatre in More Light, More Light. Between 2009 and 2011 he trained at LAMDA, performing in Some Voices, The White Devil, The Double Dealer, The Seagull and The Mill on the Floss whilst there.

Matthew Tennyson Overview

In 2007, actor Matthew Tennyson made his professional debut at the National Theatre in More Light, More Light. Between 2009 and 2011 he trained at LAMDA, performing in Some Voices, The White Devil, The Double Dealer, The Seagull and The Mill on the Floss whilst there.

In 2011, he took to the West End stage in Trevor Nunn’s Flare Path at the Royal Haymarket, following it up with the part of Jamie in Beautiful Thing at Theatre Royal Haymarket. In 2012, he made his debut on television, with the part of Clarence in Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, directed by Richard Eyre, and as Arlo in Da Vinci’s Demons. Stage work in 2012 has included the part of Eric in Making Noise Quietly at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Peter Gill, and Matty in Across Oka in Royal Court’s Playwright’s Playwrights at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End. This same year, he won Best Newcomer at the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards (2012).
