Laura Wells Overview

Laura Wells has worked on stage, television, films and radio.

In 1999, she played the lead role Imogen in BBC Radio’s Cymbeline, as well as featuring in film Adventures in Toytown. 2000 saw her appear at Battersea Arts Centre in Present Laughter, and in Beasts and Superbeasts. In 2001 she was cast in the RSC’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, as well as playing Rosie in My Mother Said I Never Should and Moth, understudying Hermia, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Alberry. In 2002 she returned to her role in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, also understudying Susan. With appearances on stage (Les Patients, 2004), television (as Tamsin Greene in the BBC’s Messiah, 2005) and in short films (as Amy in Caught Out, 2005). In 2008 she played the leading role in Educating Rita at Frinton Rep, returning to the theatre in 2009 as Evelyn in Absent Friends, Connie in Come Blow Your Horn in 2010, and the Governess in Turn of the Screw in 2011. In 2012, she played Cecily Hackett, understudying Kate, in the RSC’s The Taming of the Shrew, working under director Lucy Bailey. She also appeared on the BBC’s Doctors as Debbie Eveshaw.
