Kara Tointon is a screen and stage actress who recently played Evelyn in Alan Ayckbourne’s Absent Friends at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End. Tointin has made several television appearances, including as Pauline Young in Teachers (2001), in Dinotopia (2002), ITV’s Warrior Queen (2003), as Sarah Friedman in Keen Eddie (2004), and Sky TV’s Mile High and Dream Team (both 2005). Most famously she played Dawn Swann in EastEnders between 2005 and 2009; most recently she gained the part of Leah Cole in Sky Living’s Bedlam (2011). Film work includes the part of Victoria in Never Play With the Dead (2001), Shie in Vertigo Films’ The Football Factory (2004), Just My Luck (2006), Megan in The Sweeney (2011) and Sarah Barwell in The Last Passenger (also 2011).
