Joby Burgess

Joby Burgess Overview

Joby Burgess trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is a professional percussionist. He regularly appears around Europe and the USA and is known for his daring collaborations and extensive education work. New Noise, a duo he founded with oboist Janey Miller in 1999, has given over 200 performances. In 2001, Burgess joined ensemblebash, replacing its founder Richard Benjafield. In 2005, he founded the multimedia collective Powerplant, which has released two albums of its work to date. Burgess spends much time commissioning and recording new music, and performing and touring with different orchestras, bands and artists.
