Janie Booth is a television, film and stage actress. Television includes the part of Lily Webber in Upstairs Downstairs (1972), The Bill (1985 and 1998), Lovejoy (1993), Holby City (1999), Doctors (2001 and 2008) and Torchwood (2007). Film appearances include The Crossing (London Film School), Cockroach, Hell’s Pavement and Rufus Stone, between 2007 and 2011.

On stage, Booth first appeared at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 1962, as Pat in The Pope’s Weather. In 1973, she took the part of Louise in Hampstead Theatre Club’s Private Lives, and went on to perform in Sheffield, Stockholm, Windsor, Manchester, Birmingham, Hackney, and all around the UK before returning to London in 2009. After her role as Molly in the Finborough Theatre’s Captain Oates Left Sock in 2009, in 2010, she returned to the Finborough with Love On the Dole in 2010. In 2011, she played the part of Edna in Priestley’s An Inspector Calls, which went on a national tour and was directed by Julian Webber.
