James Sherwood Overview

James Sherwood is a comedy writer and stand up performer who incorporates songs into his sketches.  With the aid of the BBC’s Radio Entertainment writers’ bursary (2008), James contributes to a variety of BBC radio shows, including The Now Show, The News Quiz, and Tilt. In 2004 he performed on the BBC Radio 4’s Comedy Awards, and as a writer and performer on the BBC Radio 1’s The Milk Run. Other radio work includes The Smith Lectures, The Unofficial Election, the Richard Bacon Show and Loose Ends; television work includes writing for Mock the Week in 2005 and performing on ITV’s Take the Mike in 2006. Sherwood also regularly reviews the newspapers on Sky News, writes a regular blog on the Guardian website, and was runner up for the BBC’s New Comedy Awards in 2004.
