Ian Dickinson Overview

Ian has been with the Autograph design team since 2009. Autograph are a leading British sound design and equipment hire company, responsible for the supply and/or design of numerous theatre productions including The Bodyguard, Les Misérables, Wicked, Mamma Mia!, Matilda, Book Of Mormon, Jersey Boys, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, War Horse, Once and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.

Ian spent many years at the Royal Court where his credits included Spur Of The Moment, Wig Out!, Now or Later, Rhinoceros, The Seagull (also Broadway), Krapp's Last Tape, Drunk Enough to Say I Love You, Piano/Forte, Rock 'n' Roll, (also Duke of York's and Broadway) [Olivier and Tony Award nominations], Motortown, Shining City (also Gate Theatre, Dublin), Ladybird, Hitchcock Blonde (also Lyric Theatre, West End) and Herons. Other credits include Our Class, All’s Well That Ends Well, Death and the King’s Horseman, Harper Regan, The Hothouse and Pillars of the Community (National Theatre), Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, Night of the Soul (RSC), Testing the Echo, King of Hearts (Out of Joint), Love and Money, Senora Carrar’s Rifles (Young Vic), A Few Good Men (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Macbeth, Port, As You Like It, Poor Superman, Martin Yesterday, Fast Food and Coyote Ugly (Manchester Royal Exchange).

Ian won the 2013 Olivier Best Sound Design award for his work on The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time.
