Henry Winkler

Henry Winkler (OBE) is an American stage and screen actor, producer and director  best known for his iconic role as  mechanic Fonzie in 1950s set sitcom Happy Days (1974-1984).

Henry Winkler Overview

Henry Winkler (OBE) is an American stage and screen actor, producer and director  best known for his iconic role as  mechanic Fonzie in 1950s set sitcom Happy Days (1974-1984).

He studied at Emerson College and then gained his Masters of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. Henry’s stage credits include The Dinner Party (2000) and The Performers (2012) on Broadway, and he has appeared in pantomimes as villainous Captain Hook in UK productions of Peter Pan since 2006.

After ten years with Happy Days Henry turned his attention to producing and directing, most notably with action series MacGyver (1985-1992). 

Henry has continued to appear on screen in with roles in Scream (1996), Dr Barnes in Out of Practice (2005-2006), Eddie in Royal Pains (2010-2012) and Sy in comedy Children’s Hospital (2010-2013) and as incompetent defence lawyer Barry Zuckerkorn on Arrested Development (2003-2013).
