Henry Goodman Overview

Leading British actor Henry Goodman is a multiple award winner and has received best actor nominee from the Olivier Awards, Evening Standard Awards and the Critics’ Circle. He was recently seen in the title role of Arturo Ui at Chichester Festival Theatre  and he then appeared as Sir Humphrey in the BBC’s  new series of Yes Minister and as Henry Kissinger in Sky One’s Nixon’s the One.

He recently starred as Sir Humphrey in Yes Minister at Chichester Festival Theatre and in the West End and in The Winslow Boy at the Old Vic.  In Autumn 2013 he starred at Duchess Theatre in the The Rise and Fall of Arturo Ui for which he won many plaudits.

Other major West End, Broadway, RSC and Royal National Theatre roles include: Duet for One (Dr Feldman/Almeida and Vaudeville), Richard III (RSC), Shylock (RNT), Fiddler on Roof (Tevye/Savoy), Feelgood (Garrick), Theatre of Angels (Buddy/Prince of  Wales), Assassins (Guiteau/Donmar), The Holy Rosenbergs (David/RNT), Art (Marc/Wyndhams), Broken Glass (RNT), Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit/RNT) . Henry Goodman has also appeared on Broadway in title roles in Tartuffe, The Producers and Art.

He is also major BBC radio actor and Sony Award winner and was recently heard on Radio 4 as Leopold Bloom on Bloomsday Radio  - an all day adaptation of James Joyce’s Ulysses.

His numerous films include Taking Woodstock, The Saint, Notting Hill, Merchant of Venice, and the TV drama Last days of Lehman brothers

He has appeared as Garcia Lorca at St John’s Smith Square, as Wagner at Kings Place and as Janacek in a Brian Friel play at Wiltons Music Hall.

Henry Goodman frequently appears with concert pianist Lucy Parham in her words and music programmes - Odyssey of Love, Nocturne, Reverie and Beloved Clara  with Juliet Stevenson and Harriet Walter.
