Hanna Haarala is best known for her star performance in 2005’s Strictly Come Dancing BBC TV series, partnering Casualty star Will Thorp.
Until she was ten, she did intensive ice skating training in her native Finland, transferring over to dance after a teacher noticed her talent. She spent four years at a prestigious school for dance teachers where she met and danced with Mikko. The pair subsequently became Finland’s number one dance couple and represented their country at the European and World Championships and at the World Games. Hanna’s next dancing partner was South African Andrew Cuerden and, when they moved to the UK, the pair started a career as professionals. After her Strictly Come Dancing role, where she performed in front of 10 million viewers, her next big project was the Blackpool International Open in 2008. Having ranked in the top 25 dancers in the world, Hanna is one of the UK’s leading dance teachers in Latin and Ballroom.
