George Asprey

George Asprey Overview

George Asprey is a screen and stage actor. His extensive television appearances include parts in The Dying of the Light in 1994, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA, The Bill (1998 and 2006), Holby City (2003),  Waking The Dead (2006), Psychoville (2009) and, most recently, Upstairs Downstairs (2011). Film performances include Kenneth Branagh’s Frankenstein in 1994, Out of Bounds in 2000, and The Wedding Date and Disney’s The Greatest Game Ever Played in 2005.

On stage, Asprey has performed as the hero himself in Pride and Prejudice, Rodolpho in Miller’s A View From the Bridge and Elyot Chase in Coward’s Private Lives, amongst others. Musical performances have included Guys and Dolls, Scrooge!, The Sound of Music, Dick Barton, Chicago on its National Tour and, most recently, the part of Scar in Disney’s West End production of The Lion King. He has performed in a variety of theatres around the UK, from Birmingham Rep to London’s Sadler’s Wells and the West End’s Lyecum Theatre, and has also made two appearances at the English Theatre in Frankfurt.
