Gabrielle Dawes is a freelance Casting Director and an Associate of Chichester Festival Theatre. Theatre at Chichester includes Singin’ in the Rain, The Browning Version/South Downs, Top Girls, Yes Prime Minister, Macbeth and Taking Sides/Collaboration, all of which transferred to the West End. Other West End productions includes The King’s Speech, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Three Days of Rain, A Round Heeled Woman, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Onassis and Treasure Island. Other theatre has been performed at The Old Vic, in Broadway, at the Young Vic, Hampstead Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Sheffield Theatre.
As Deputy Head of Casting at the National Theatre between 2000 and 2006, award-winning productions she was involved with include Caroline, or Change, His Dark Materials, Elmina’s Kitchen, The Pillowman and Coram Boy. Television credits include Macbeth (directed by Rupert Goold), Celebration (by Harold Pinter) and Elmina’s Kitchen (by Kwame Kwei-Armah). Her films include Perdie, which received a BAFTA for Best Short Film.
