Dicken Ashworth Overview

Dicken Ashworth has an extensive resume that spans film, television and stage work. Television credits are numerous, with parts in BBC’s Oliver Twist and Doctor Who early on in his career, and appearances in Lenny Henry Tonight. He spent 7 years as a regular on Coronation Street in the part of Geoff Horton and has subsequently performed in the BBC’s The Thin Blue Line and Doctors, and Yorkshire TV’s Heartbeat and Emmerdale. Most recently, in 2011, he performed in the television show of Room at the Top.

Film work includes Chariots of Fire in 1981 and various films with Columpia Pictures and Disney Pictures, among others. On stage, he has worked repeatedly under director John Godber at Hull Truck Theatre, performing there every year between 2000 and 2011, excepting 2009. Recently, he performed in Three Days in May, a Bill Kenwright Ltd. production (2011) and a rehearsed reading of A Kind of Loving at Theatre Royal Wakefield (2012).
