Carolyn Sampson Overview

Carolyn Sampson is an English soprano who won the Arnold Goldsborough Prize for Baroque performance whilst reading music at the University of Birmingham. Making her opera debut with the ENO, her repertoire includes Salome in Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista and Euridyce in Gluck’s Orphé et Euridyce, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Susanna in Le Nozze Di Figaro and Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore. Recently, Carolyn joined Robin Blaze for a joint recital at the Wigmore Hall, appeared in The Proms Chamber Music Series, and gave recitals for BBC Radio 3 and BBC Scotland. Future engagements include the title role in ENO’s Semele. She also has various recording plans.
