Bill Paterson Overview

Bill Paterson is a Scottish stage and screen actor who studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before touring with theatre company 7:84.

Most notable stage credits include the lead of Ken in Whose Life is it Anyway at the Savoy Theatre, in Schwekyk in the Second World War at the National, Harry in Guys and Dolls, and Pavel in Ivanov at the Almedia.

Bill’s screen career has included the role of the villainous Ally Fraser in series two of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1986), Dr Gibbon in mini-series The Singling Detective (1986) and in Wives and Daughters (1999). More recently Bill has appeared as a series regular in supernatural drama Sea of Souls (2004-2007), George Castle in Law & Order: UK (2009-2010) and has also enjoyed a guest appearance in the iconic Doctor Who (2010).
