Russian Anna-Liisa Bezrodny is a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Following the lead of her musically distinguished family, she began her violin studies at the tender age of 2. She studied at both the Sibelius Academy and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and in 2006 won the Guildhall Gold Medal, the most prestigious award at Guildhall, playing Shostakovich Violin Concerto No.1 in the Barbican Hall with Sian Edwards. Anna-Liisa has appeared as soloist and recitalist with orchestras in the most prestigious concert venues in Russia, Finland, Holland, Germany, UK, Spain, USA, Estonia and others, including the UK’s Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall and Wigmore Hall. She has played at countless festivals around the world and has received numerous awards, including the London Symphony Orchestra’s 2005 PROMIS Award for talented young musicians. Anna-Liisa’s playing has been heard on several occasions on national TV and Radio, including the UK’s NBC and BBC Radio 3. Since 2007 Anna-Liisa has also taught in both Estonian Music Academy as well as at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
