Anita Louise Combe

Anita Louise Combe is an Australian stage actress, singer and dancer. She trained at the Gwen Mackay School of Dancing and made her stage debut as Sillabub in the Australian Premier Production of Cats (1985) in Sydney.

Anita Louise Combe Overview

Anita Louise Combe is an Australian stage actress, singer and dancer. She trained at the Gwen Mackay School of Dancing and made her stage debut as Sillabub in the Australian Premier Production of Cats (1985) in Sydney.

After featuring in a number of other Australian productions Anita relocated to London to take on the role of Betty Schaeffer in the original west end production of Sunset Boulevard (1993) at the Adelphi Theatre. She went on to play the same role in the Canadian Premiere of the production, for which she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for both Toronto’s Dora Maver Moore Award and Vancouver’s Jessie Richardson Award.

In 2002 she returned to the west end starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago and returned in 2004 to play Velma Kelly, one of the few actresses in the world to have taken on both roles.

Other productions Anita has featured in include the musical Maid of the Mountains (2006), Richard Harris’ tap dancing comedy Stepping Out (2007) and as  Cassie in the Australian Production of A Chorus Line (2011-2012).

Anita has also made guest appearances on the screen in Silent Witness (2003), Holby City (2006) and Doctors (2007).
