Andrew Pickett is a counter-tenor Canadian who was educated at the University of Western Ontario and achieved a Graduate Diploma at the Royal College of Music. He has been awarded a LGAC Scholarship from William Goodenough College, won the Best Singer of the Royal College of Music’s New Song Competition, and got the Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation Award. Andrew Pickett's opera performances have been based in Toronto and around the UK. Most recently he played Secrecy/Summer in John Hancorn’s Purcell Fairy Queen at the Brighton Early Music Festival, and Oberon in Greg Myra’s Britten Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Halifax Summer Opera Festival. Recent concerts include Handel’s Messiah and Judas Maccabeus and Bach’s St Matthew Passion.
