Ailish Tynan

Having trained at Trinity College, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she has racked up a whole series of prestigious titles and awards.  A BBC New Generation Artist and the winner of the Rosenblatt Recital Prize at the 2003 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, she spent 2 years as a Vilar Young Artist at the Royal Opera House in 2002-4.

Ailish Tynan Overview

Singer Ailish Tynan was born and bred in Ireland. Having trained at Trinity College, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she has racked up a whole series of prestigious titles and awards.  A BBC New Generation Artist and the winner of the Rosenblatt Recital Prize at the 2003 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, she spent 2 years as a Vilar Young Artist at the Royal Opera House in 2002-4.  Returning to the Royal Opera House in 2007 to take the role of Marzelline in Fidelio in Covent Garden, she has also been Gretel in its Hänsel und Gretel. Apart from a performance as Tigrane for the English National Opera’s production of Radamisto, her other performances catalogue artistic collaboration with foreign opera companies based everywhere from the States to France and from Luxembourg to Sweden.
