Adrian Lukis Overview

Birmingham born Adrian Lukis trained at the University of Hull and has had an impressive track record on television. He played Dr David Shearer in Peak Practice for 2 years from 1996 and has been parts in high profile shows like The Bill, Midsomer Murders and Spooks. Most famously, he was Mr Wickham in the BBC’s highly celebrated 1995 Pride and Prejudice series. In 2004, Lukis was one of the four leads in Cloaca, the play with which Kevin Spacey chose to inaugurate his directorship of the Old Vic. When Spacey had to leave for a film role the following summer, Lukis took over the lead role from Spacey. With The National Theatre under his belt as well, Lukis is clearly set to establish an acting legacy - quite literally, it would seem, as when he auditioned for a role on the children’s TV series My Dad’s the Prime Minister, he happened to mention his 14 year old daughter. The producers asked to see her and, even though Lukis didn’t get the part, she did.
