After training at Mountview Theatre School, Abigail Jaye’s most exotic performance to date has been a production of Grease, set in Cyprus’s Pattichion Amphitheatre. The successes of Bob Tomson’s long-running Scrooge and Abigail’s own career have been inseparable: as Isabel/Helen she has performed in its 2003 National Tour, in 2004 at Manchester Palace, in 2005 at the London Palladium, and finally in 2007 and 2009 on its UK Tours. A flexible performer, in 2006 her London Palladium debut led right onto the tiny London Fringe Finborough Theatre with Floradora and she has most recently performed Lucky Stiff at the petite Landor Theatre. However, judging by the impressive list of productions to her name it is the large scale touring productions that hold most their appeal. From Bill Kenwright’s 2008 UK Tour of Doctor Dolittle and his European bound 2010 Evita Tour to a Holland Tour of What The World Needs Now, she has done her fair share of travelling – something which is reflected by her accomplished grasp of 20-plus accents and dialects.
