Lesley Garrett returns as Mother Abbess with Verity Rushworth (Hairspray, Emmerdale) as Maria and Michael Praed as Captain von Trapp (Dynasty, Robin of Sherwood) in the world's best-loved musical, The Sound Of Music, which comes to the New Wimbledon Theatre direct from the London Palladium.
This lavish and critically acclaimed production tells the uplifting true story of the von Trapp family's flight across the mountains and works its magic once again, for young and old alike.
With its unforgettable score The Sound Of Music touches the hearts of all ages and brims over with some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage including My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, The Lonely Goatherd, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and of course the glorious title song The Sound of Music. It's the perfect family treat!
Although the producers of The Sound of Music cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist, Lesley Garrett is expected to appear at all performances excluding Mon 17 Oct whilst Verity Rushworth is expected to appear at all performances excluding Wed 12 & Thu 13 Oct 2:30pm, and Thu 20 Oct 2:30pm & 7:30pm and Michael Praed is expected to appear at all performances; all subject always to illness and holidays.
Please note that due to a vocal condition Connie Fisher has had to withdraw from the UK tour of The Sound of Music meaning that she will no longer be appearing at New Wimbledon Theatre as previously advertised.
