Liza Goddard and Daniel Casey star in Noel Coward's final play, Star Quality.
Set in 1951, Star Quality takes us behind the scenes of a new West End production. Behind the red-curtain glamour, Coward conjures up a wickedly observant satire of talent and treachery and a gallery of unforgettable characters. A temperamental leading lady and her director engage in a battle of egos which will make or break the production – and possibly the rest of the cast.
Bursting with Coward charm, what emerges from the mayhem of wit, hissy fits and fisticuffs is proof that Star Quality will always triumph.
Stars of TV and stage Liza Goddard (Take Three Girls) and Daniel Casey (Midsomer Murders) lead a superb cast of 12 with Ambridge favourite Michael Lumsden (Alistair Lloyd in The Archers), West End legend Gay Soper (Sunday in the Park with George), Sarah Berger, Simon Cole, Anthony Houghton, Vivien Keene, Keith Myers, Brendan Riding, Bob Saul, Sonia Saville and Lola the dog, in her professional stage debut.
Adapted by Christopher Luscombe (director of The Madness of George III and The History Boys) and directed by Joe Harmston (Artistic Director of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company), Star Quality is a fitting farewell from Noël Coward, one of the most distinctive voices of British theatre.
