An Ellen Kent Production: Madama Butterfly Overview

A spectacular traditional production performed by the Ukrainian National Opera of Kharkiv. Starring the Korean soprano Elena Dee*. Back by overwhelming public demand, Ellen Kent's award winning opera returns.

This sumptuous, traditionally-staged production, featuring a host of international soloists will arrive from one of the leading Opera Houses in Europe, The Ukrainian National Opera of Kharkiv.

One of the world's most popular Opera's, Puccini's Madama Butterfly tells the heart-breaking story of the beautiful young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant - with dramatic results.

Highlights include the melodic Humming Chorus, the moving aria One Fine Day and the unforgettable Love Duet. The set will reflect an exquisite traditional Japanese Garden and feature spectacular costumes including antique wedding kimonos from Japan.

This production will be sung in Italian with English surtitles
