Journey to the Past
A nostalgic celebration of classic animated movie music.
Following the success of her debut album The Sound of Rodgers & Hammerstein, BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? star Helena Blackman returns with her new solo show Journey to the Past, a celebration of songs from the wonderful world of classic animated movie music.
Journey to the Past features songs from films such as Anastasia, Thumbelina,The Land Before Time, The Rescuers, and An American Tail, as well as Disney classics including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Mulan. Helena takes her audience on a nostalgic journey, allowing them to discover the musical soundtrack of their youth anew.
Having captured the nation's attention and the unfailing support of Andrew Lloyd Webber on the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, Helena headlined the acclaimed UK tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, and starred in the West End première of Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night. Helena recently toured the UK as a guest artist with number one charting classical singer Jonathan Ansell and performed an evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein songs at the prestigious Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall.
