Made famous by such legendary artists as The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, The Commodores, Lionel Richie, The Supremes and Smokey Robinson, Motown broke down barriers around the world whilst producing some of the most influential and enduring songs of the 20th Century. With a full supporting company of singers, dancers and an amazing live band, Dancing in the Streets re-creates the energy, style and music of all your favourite Motown stars!
There are sixteen wheelchair spaces available in the auditorium. 12 in the stalls and 4 in the circle. There is lift access to all levels of the theatre. All areas of the Theatres are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There is level access from Lime Street, through into the foyer, with level access into the auditorium at both sides of the stalls. The building features wide doors, and additional toilet facilities for disabled people. One front of house lift provides access to the circle and one lift provides access to the stalls bar toilets, with appropriate seating positions available on all levels.
Liverpool Empire Theatre is equipped with an infrared sound amplification system. To access the infrared system please request receiving equipment from a member of the Front of House team who will provide you with an induction loop necklace.
Induction Loop Necklace
Suitable for persons wearing a hearing aid, the induction loop necklace is worn around the neck. Whilst wearing the necklace, switch your hearing aid to the 'T' setting and the sound is amplified. The necklace has an adjustable volume control.
There are a number of British Sign Language Interpreted performances every season. A signer will be sited at the side of the stage. Guide, hearing and other working dogs are welcome in all parts of the theatre.
There are public toilet facilities on all levels of the theatre. There are separate, fully accessible, male and female facilities on the ground and first floors. Backstage there are accessible facilities. There is an emergency call-point in all accessible facilities, should you need to call for a member of staff.
Baby changing facilities are located in fully accessible toilets. Please ask a member of the Front of House team if you require assistance.

The Liverpool Empire Theatre is located on Lime Street and is easily accessible by road. For SATNAV use L1 1JE.
Car-parking:
The theatre does not have its own parking facilities but Liverpool boasts many city centre car parks with reasonable rates and many are within 5 minutes walk of the theatre.
The closest car parks are located on Hotham Street, Mount Pleasant, Lord Nelson Street and at St John’s Shopping Centre on Lime Street. St. John’s Car Park offers discounted parking of £2 for patrons visiting local theatres after 5.00 pm and leaving before midnight. To qualify for the discounted rate use the main car park and take a ticket on entry. Do not use the short stay pay and display area. When leaving the car park after the performance, you must hand your car parking ticket and your theatre ticket stub, dated for that evening’s performance, to the cashier at the car park exit. You will then be charged the applicable discounted tariff.
By Train:
The Liverpool Empire Theatre is next door to Lime Street Station. Local (Wirral Line) and National rail services stop at this station. Please use the Lord Nelson Street exit for the theatre.
